- Pour oil in a pan put cinnamon sticks cloves and fennel seeds. Then add onion and fry to golden brown.
- Add tomato and fry till it's soft. Add green chilies,red chili powder, turmeric powder and other vegetables. fry for a minute.
- Add salt and water if required. Transfer this to the pressure cooker and cook together for one more whistle.
- Turn off the flame and let the steam settles down.
- Then mash the dal and vegetables with a wooden spoon for a minute. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and curry leaves.
